New COVID-19 Safety Guidelines for LA County Effective 9/1/2021

Dear 310 BASEBALL Families,

Effective 9/1/2021, Los Angeles County has issued new safety guidelines for youth sports in regards to COVID-19.

As baseball is considered a moderate-risk sport, the county is requiring routine screening tests (PCR) for players who are NOT fully vaccinated and over the age of 12.

For fully vaccinated players and players 12 and under, weekly routine tests are NOT required.

Please let us know immediately if your 13U and above child has NOT been Vaccinated.

For those who do not meet these standards, 310 BASEBALL has partnered up with a laboratory for free standard non-invasive PCR self test kits.

Test kits are readily available to be picked up for all those who inquire – vaccinated or not. You may voluntarily also have an independent test arranged on your end.

For all Highschool players, we are also assuming that your child’s High School has already begun with testing or preparing to take the weekly test this week or next.

VERY IMPORTANT,

For those 13/14U Players (primarily 7th and 8th graders) taking these self-test kits, please take them on Tuesday (September 7th) and deliver them to a convenient location (to be decided) in the Redondo Beach/Torrance area by 6 PM on Wednesday (September 8th). You will need to provide the laboratory a copy of your medical insurance card, a copy of your ID (parents), and a simple form to fill out with the completed test kit. We will provide you with more information for those needing to take a test through 310 BASEBALL.

We understand these measures can be tough for some families – if you have any issues with these guidelines please let us know.

As of now, we must stay vigilant in fighting back the spread of this virus. If there are any positive cases within 310 BASEBALL, all players and coaches/staff in immediate contact will be required to provide consecutive weekly negative test results prior to returning to 310 BASEBALL participation so if you or your child are exhibiting symptoms please notify us immediately. If your child may be feeling ill with symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them at home and notify us.

Please have your child also come to practice with a gaiter/mask ready to be worn if necessary.

Moving forward, we respect all spectators to continue social distancing, similar to the previous fall and spring seasons, and masks are recommended. As of now, masks are NOT required when outdoors to spectate.
We will continue to monitor the county’s requirements and always be a step ahead. 310 BASEBALL was one of the first programs to be on a field in South Bay during the pandemic and however the situation may turn, we will be the last program to come off of a field as well.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
