Good evening Parents,Hope you enjoyed last night with the Dodgers going to the World Series!A few things to remind yourselves on Safely playing with the uncertainties of COVID-19.From practice to scrimmages, we need to do better!  That’s players, parents and coaches!
This Wednesday, I have been told we have a very strict park official reviewing and monitoring practices!!!
Make sure you have them in masks and please go over these rules below with your son.

1) A MASK/NECK GAITERWear a MASK, have a spare or two in the bag.Very simple! When kids have spread apart they can have it down, but once in close range, it needs to be up.
We don’t want them suffocating in them, they can take a break, catch their breath too, just spread apart.

2) SOCIAL DISTANCINGThis needs to be monitored more closely by coaches, and with the help of parents, when we are especially playing away.If the boys are not practicing social distancing especially without masks when within 6 ft of each other, please let us know, or let them know directly! There is a lot we (Coaches) don’t see too.
My fault for yesterday with the 7th graders, as I had dropped my guard and was reminded by the other coach to have our infielders in masks!
Also, parents, you are the role models for the boys so please have a mask when sitting alongside (within 6 ft) with other families too.
Due to Torrance restrictions of NO SPECTATORs, coaches will need to monitor this closely at Entradero. When we are away, again, please keep these points in mind and help out when you can.

3) EXTRA RULES

– NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS, at any fields, practice or scrimmage/games
– We will be turning OFF the high fiving- NO BATs to be shared, NO Equipment to be shared (helmets, catchers gear etc)- Hand Sanitizer is always present, remind them of that.

Here are some INTERESTING FACTS and RULES MLB and MLBPA had to agree on for the 2020 season to get back to play!!!Sure they are getting paid the big bucks, but let’s try to stick to a similar routine, being and playing as safe as possible.

Player Rules

  • There will be no bat boys/girls or ball boys/girls, so team staff will handle those duties. Hitters will have to bring their own equipment (pine-tar rags, donuts, etc.) with them to and from the on-deck circle.
  • Pitchers will have to bring their own rosin bag to the mound, and use their own personal baseballs for bullpen sessions.
  • Hitters and runners left on base will have to get their own equipment from the dugout when the inning ends.
  • NO MORE SPITTING! Spitting is prohibited, including sunflower seeds and shells. Smokeless tobacco is also prohibited, while chewing gun will be allowed.
  • Players licking their fingers is now prohibited. Pitchers can carry a “wet rag” in their pocket to moisten their fingers before pitches.
  • Batting practice balls can only be used that day, and will have to be cleaned and sanitized after use. They cannot be reused for five days.
  • Fighting and instigating is a big no-no and will be met with “severe discipline.” Players cannot make physical contact with any other players outside of making tags and other incidental contact.
  • High fives, fist bumps and hugs are all prohibited. So no more elaborate high five celebrations come the playoffs.
  • Showering at the ballpark is “discouraged but not prohibited.”

WEDNESDAY at Entradero:
Coach (Koby) Gauna will be doing bullpen for the 3 hrs during regular practice.
All pitchers and catchers will need to work out with him.If your son is a pitcher or catcher he may be in the bullpen and getting out a bit later.
