310 Families,

I hope all of you are well and had a Happy Thanksgiving week.

Apologies for the lengthy email, but please read through to the bottom.

As COVID-19 cases rise again, we have been told the City of Torrance will decide on Monday in regards to the New Stay at Home Order.
Field owners have indicated that Entradero Park should be open according to being a recreational park/space for youth sports programs, but not 100% until verified with the City of Torrance. I will also find out about our schedule for Torrance Batting Cages as well. We hope nothing changes and we can continue using Entradero Park.

MOVING FORWARD,
As for DECEMBER, your tuition will be HALF the cost.
All automatic payments have been adjusted to reflect these prices. Also, our LAST DAY of practice/scrimmages etc is DEC. 20th.
(If CANCELLED due to new rules, we will REFUND you in full.)
Also to keep the boys busy, we may have optional workouts for those who are available during the break.

I have maintained several fall baseball programs for the past 6 years (Wharf Rats, Rebels, etc); working with 8th grade and High school players in the fall and last year was the first time we brought the program down to 7th and 6th grades.
In 2021, we WILL continue 310 BASEBALL in the older High school groups as well.

For the 2020-2021 season, CIF has changed rules where players are no longer restricted to their high school teams. This allows players to be active with outside competitive programs without penalty as a player on their high school team. An ongoing debate for decades now, where a high school may not be the best fit program pending on sport and school. And a spring season of uncertainties may restrict the boys from taking away games, practices, and scrimmages they usually would on Frosh/JV or Varsity.

We have also discussed with the owners of Entradero field and are holding onto our usual slots in Spring too. There are over 20 teams in line trying to access the field and I have worked very hard over the past 4 years to secure these fields and will make sure we stay on and keep working with the boys!!!

Also to maximize usage of Entradero park, we are now allowed to move to 24+ players to be on the field vs our original 18.

Your child is already in the program and will NOT need to evaluate for 2021.

If you wish to leave the program for 2021, please let us know by December 15th.

As the program grows, we will assess players and balance teams according to their skill and performance levels for local scrimmages, games, and tournaments. Players will have the chance to improve and advance forward to the top tourney team as well.

As always, I’m in discussion with several teams/organizations to set-up scrimmages (unofficial games, other high school/travel teams, AABC, Connie Mack, AAU, USSSA, Babe Ruth etc) and rest assured we will get these scrimmages in and keep the boys busy as they have been through fall.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Wear a mask and let’s stay safe.
Thank you.

Chuck Ono
